Job summary

Weeting Church of England Primary School is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support learning across the school, under Grace Schools. The role involves assessing pupil needs, building positive relationships, promoting inclusion, and helping create an effective learning environment.

The position is permanent, 27.5 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, with pay scales of £26,427 to £26,847 FTE. The school encourages professional development and a supportive, collaborative team

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (or equivalent).
• NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
• Experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant.
• Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning.
• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.
• High levels of adaptability and flexibility.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge to support learning.
• Establish productive working relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
• Support pupils consistently while responding to individual needs.
• Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
• Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources.
