Job summary

Weeting Church of England Primary School is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support learning across the school, under Grace Schools. The role involves assessing pupil needs, building positive relationships, promoting inclusion, and helping create an effective learning environment.

The position is permanent, 27.5 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, with pay scales of £26,427 to £26,847 FTE. The school encourages professional development and a supportive, collaborative team

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (or equivalent).
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.
  • High levels of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Weeting Church of England Primary School, part of Grace Schools

At Weeting Church of England Primary School we are committed to creating the foundations to build successful futures. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and skills to support pupils' learning
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Points 5-6 (FTE £26,427 - £26,847)
  • £16,423 approx. pro rata
  • Working 27.5 hours, 38 weeks per year - 8.40 am - 2.30 pm, Monday - Friday
  • Permanent

Qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
