Job summary

TipTopJob in Cambridge is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3) to join a supportive team delivering high-quality education to a class of 8–10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. You will work alongside specialist teachers and therapists to create a safe, nurturing environment focused on social-emotional wellbeing, EHCP targets and overall pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct support to individuals or small groups and adapt lessons to EHCP targets.
• Promote inclusive learning, high behaviour standards and pupil attendance.
• Assist with emotional, physical and medical care, including lunch duty and First Aid.
• (Level 3) Plan, arrange and deliver specialised learning activities for small groups.
• Record pupil progress and contribute to planning and evaluation.

Teaching Assistant (Level 2 / Level 3)

GBP25,185 : GBP25,583 FTE (approx. GBP21,697 : GBP22,040 pro:rata) (L2) or GBP25,584 : GBP27,269 FTE (approx. GBP22,041 : GBP23,493 pro:rata) (L3)

Join a supportive, holistic team delivering high:quality education to a class of 8:10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Working alongside specialist teachers and therapists, you will create a safe, nurturing environment focused on social:emotional wellbeing, communication, and fulfilling each pupils Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Key Responsibilities

Classroom and Pupil Support

• Deliver direct support to individuals or small groups, adapting lessons and learning approaches to meet EHCP targets.
• Promote positive social interactions, inclusion, high standards of behaviour, and attendance.
• Assist with emotional, physical, and medical care, including lunch duty supervision and First Aid administration.
• (Level 3) Plan, arrange, and deliver specialised learning activities for small groups.

Teacher and Operational Support

• Prepare classroom environments, resources, displays, and manage day:to:day administrative tasks.
• Record pupil progress, contribute to target setting, planning, and evaluation.
• Maintain a clean, safe learning environment in line with Health and Safety regulations.
• (Level 3) Provide detailed feedback on learning activities to support school review processes.

Community, Culture and Safeguarding

• Embody school values, foster family participation, and support school events.
• Maintain strict safeguarding standards, pupil welfare, and medical/child protection protocols.
• Uphold a Humans first, professional second culture, engaging in CPD, team collaboration, and out:of:hours governance/school meetings as required.
• (Level 2/3) Support or mentor fellow Teaching Assistants in their professional development.

To be succesful in your application, you will have minimum Level 2 qualification and previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in either a mainstream or SEN setting.
