Job summary

Pioneer House High School in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to join our dedicated team. This is a permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week, term time plus 5 INSET days) with a starting salary of £22,004.

You will support teaching and learning across the school, work with small groups, and help implement Individual Learning Plans, under the supervision of teachers and senior leaders. Excellent numeracy and literacy are essential.

Qualifications

  • Support the performance management process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
  • To converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to join our fantastic team at Pioneer House High School

This is a Grade 3, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £22,004 and the full time equivalent is £25,583.

We’re looking for:

Someone who understands the role of a Teaching Assistant, collaborates effectively with classroom professionals, and has basic knowledge of child development and learning andexcellent numeracy and literacy skills, qualified to level 2 or equivalent/higher. The right candidate will be committed to professional standards, continuously striving to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills. A focus on teamwork and driving continuous improvement to support student success is required.

This is a great opportunity to work in a Special Educational Needs School, working under the supervision of other teachers. You willbe part of a team providing exceptional education for students. You will require tact and diplomacy in order to build excellent interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders including colleagues across the school and trust, parents and external agencies. Experience of working with children and/or young people with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.

Main purpose of the job:

You willbe a part of a team providing exceptional education for students so that they become happy, confident adults. You will support teaching and learning across the school, providing general support in the management of pupils and resources, working under the supervision of the class teacher, department lead and senior leadership team.
