Job summary

Whitnash Nursery School is looking to appoint a Part-time/Temporary Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with special educational needs. The role is 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 12.30pm, at the school in Royal Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, caring and reliable, with a calm approach to learning.

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and safeguarding is a core commitment. Closing date for applications is Tuesday 20 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
• Ability to support a child with SEN to reach full potential.
• Use identified strategies to engage learning.
• Work as part of a team to deliver learning objectives.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will ideally have the experience of working within an educational setting and can demonstrate:

• A genuine interest and enthusiasm for supporting children and in making a positive difference


• The ability to support pupils to reach their full potential.


• Creativity and versatility, engaging the child in their learning by using identified strategies which support their individual needs.


• Responding to the needs of the child, recognising where potential barriers to learning may arise and seeking to overcome them.


• Working as part of a team.
