Job summary

St Giles’ C.E Primary School in Shrewsbury is seeking an ambitious Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our KS2 provision. You will support the class teacher and a specific pupil on a 1:1 or small group basis to promote progress.

The role also includes serving as a lunchtime supervisor for 30 minutes daily, in addition to teaching duties from 8:55am to 3:15pm, with a 20-minute morning break and a 30-minute lunch.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
• Dedication and enthusiasm with high expectations for every child.
• Experience delivering interventions and willingness to undertake first aid qualification.
• Sound understanding of promoting positive learning behaviours.

Job description

The Governors of St Giles’ C.E Primary School are looking to recruit an ambitious, dedicated and enthusiastic level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our school provision in the KS2 Department.

You will have responsibility for working alongside the classroom teacher and supporting a specific child on a 1:1 or small group basis to enhance pupil’s academic progression.

The role will also include working as a lunchtime supervisor for 30 minutes each day in addition to class teaching hours.

Working hours: 8:55am – 3:15pm (which includes unpaid breaks of 20 minutes in the morning and ½ hour lunch.)

We are looking for a candidate who has:

• A Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent:
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils:
• Dedication and enthusiasm, together with high expectations for every child to achieve their full potential
• Experience of delivering interventions and willingness to undertake a first aid qualification
• A sound understanding of how to promote positive learning behaviours
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build good relationships

Part of the duties of this post requires the postholder to support the child during the lunchtime period.
