Job summary

Concordia Academy in London is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN and EHCPs, working closely with the class teacher. Experience in Speech and Language, ADHD, SEMH and Autism is valued.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of SEND experience in primary settings, an understanding of SEN needs, and Level 2 qualification in play work/childcare. Paediatric first aid is desirable; safeguarding knowledge is essential and confidentiality must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND children in the primary age range
• Experience in a busy environment with children
• Understanding of SEN needs
• Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
• Sympathetic understanding of emotional, social and intellectual needs of children with SEND
• Motivated to inspire confidence in children with SEN

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering SEN-focused activities
• Use initiative to enhance teaching and learning for the children
• Build calm, supportive relationships with students, parents and staff
• Maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team
