Job summary

Primcura Education is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with a variety of special educational needs in primary or secondary settings. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, help implement IEPs, adapt activities, and collaborate with teachers and therapists to monitor progress.

Experience with autism, ADHD, dyslexia or speech/language difficulties is desirable; NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is a bonus.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN or other learning needs.
  • Knowledge of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech/language difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school team while taking initiative when needed.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN.
  • Help implement IEPs and support programs designed by teachers and specialists.
  • Adapt classroom resources and activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in students.
  • Liaise closely with teaching staff, therapists, and school leadership to share insights and track progress.
  • Observe, record, and report on student achievements and challenges to inform ongoing support strategies.
