Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a Peterlee primary school on a full-time basis. The role involves assisting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD) and delivering small-group interventions.

You will work closely with Class Teachers to tailor support and attend break/lunchtime supervision where needed. The school has a strong culture and supportive leadership; opportunities exist to work with pupils from Year 2 to Year 6.

Qualifications

• Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based qualification (desired).
• Experience of working with children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Hold Right to Work in the UK and an enhanced DBS or willingness to process a new application.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with varied SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Deliver intervention sessions to small groups to boost understanding and progress.
• Support across the school at breaktimes and lunchtimes as required.
