SEN Teaching Assistant - High Wycombe

Location: High Wycombe

Salary: £450-£500 per week (PAYE)

Contract: [Full-time / Part-time]

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in High Wycombe and support our pupils in reaching their full potential.

About the School:

Our school is a Primary age special school that caters to children experiencing Communication and Interaction difficulties, typically within the moderate learning difficulty/mild learning disability range. The majority of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alongside additional needs such as:

  1. Global Developmental Delay
  2. Anxiety
  3. Sensory Processing Difficulties
  4. ADHD
  5. Dyspraxia
  6. Severe Speech, Language, and Communication Difficulties

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and complex needs.
  2. Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  3. Implement strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being.
  4. Work closely with teachers and therapists to meet each child's unique needs.
  5. Foster independence and confidence in our learners.

Who We Are Looking For:

We welcome applicants with personal or professional experience supporting children with autism and complex needs. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  1. Experience in an SEN, care, or education setting (or lived experience supporting children with additional needs).
  2. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  3. A good understanding of autism, sensory needs, and communication difficulties.
  4. The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
