Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in SEND schools from September 2026. We welcome experienced TAs, graduates from non-education backgrounds, and those exploring a future career in teaching.

Thrive training is available for all applicants to build valuable SEN skills. Roles include working one-to-one or in small groups, helping pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, and PMLD, and collaborating with school staff and SEND teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant or desire to start a career in education.
• Interest in SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD support.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
• Help pupils build confidence, independence and communication skills.
• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and engage in learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
• Work alongside teachers and specialist SEND teams.
