Job summary

Greenacre School in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Grade 4 Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children with special educational needs. The role involves classroom support, liaising on individual education plans, and helping pupils reach their full potential.

The candidate should have school or similar setting experience, SEN/SEND background, GCSE Maths and English, and ideally NVQ Level 3 or be working towards it.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or similar setting.
• Ideally experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs.
• Must have GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 qualification or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Getting the classroom ready for lessons.
• Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support.
• Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
• Completing records/ pupils’ plans.
• Leading small and whole class group work.
