Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant primary SEN setting in the UK. You will work closely with teachers to support pupils academically, socially and emotionally in a nurturing environment.

No prior SEN experience is required; attitude, empathy and willingness to learn are valued. You must have GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 and be eligible to work in the UK, with an Enhanced DBS check preferred.

Qualifications

• Patient, compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help young people succeed.
• GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent; Early Years qualification is a plus.
• Clear communication skills and a strong commitment to child safeguarding.
• Full, permanent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Enhanced DBS check or update service must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils academically, socially and emotionally alongside experienced teachers.
• Build relationships with children with autism, physical, sensory or complex needs.
• Help implement personalised education plans and encourage positive behaviour.
• Assist with communication tools (e.g., Makaton/PECS) and mobility or personal care as required.
• Help learners develop independence and social skills.
