Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Preston, starting Monday 2nd November. You will support children with additional learning and developmental needs, working alongside teachers to implement plans and promote inclusive learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Transferable experience from care, support work, residential care, healthcare or similar settings is encouraged.
• Patient, empathetic and positive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, including ASD/ADHD and speech and language difficulties.
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small group interventions.
• Work with teachers and SENCOs to implement learning plans.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement in the classroom.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
