Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant at a primary school in Bamber Bridge to start in November 2026.

The role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs across the school day, closely collaborating with teachers and support staff, and delivering tailored assistance to help each child access learning. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, adapt to individual needs, and help foster confidence, resilience and positive participation within lessons.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in education, childcare, care or support work.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Committed to promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support for pupils with additional learning needs.
• Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups, adapting support to meet individual requirements.
• Encourage engagement, independence and positive participation in lessons.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Follow individual support plans and implement strategies from school staff and external professionals.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
