Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Preston. The role starts Monday 2nd November and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm. Pay rate £14.25 - £14.95 per hour, with a view to long-term placement.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach. A TA qualification is desirable but not essential, and transferable care or support experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs is essential.
• Transferable experience from care, support work or similar roles will be considered.
• A patient, empathetic and positive approach to supporting learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions.
• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies and learning plans.
• Promote independence, confidence, and engagement within the classroom.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
