Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced SEN school in Chelmsford. You will provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes, helping with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The role follows EHCP targets, may involve personal care, and offers a long-term, potentially permanent position with ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
