Job summary

Remedy Education seeks a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a Brentwood setting, supporting pupils with a range of needs in a well-resourced school.

Role involves 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary ages, with emphasis on communication, regulation and EHCP targets; some personal care may be required, in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care when needed.
• Strong collaboration with teachers and SEN staff.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN schools in Brentwood that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible. This person will work in small groups or 1:1 with children who have a range of needs.
