Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-supported Essex school, working across primary and secondary classes with pupils who have SEN, ASD or ADHD.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help with communication and emotional regulation, follow EHCP targets and assist with personal care where needed, while maintaining a calm, structured learning environment and promoting independence.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN schools in Essex that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible. This person will work in small groups or 1:1 with children who have a range of needs.
