Job summary

Long Term Futures are seeking a confident SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision within a mainstream primary school in Coventry, CV2. This full-time role supports 4-5 boys with significant ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs.

You will stay calm under pressure, confidently manage challenging behaviour and use Positive Behaviour Management and de-escalation strategies. A DBS and two references are required for consideration, with potential temp-to-perm progression.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with significant behavioural and SEN needs.
• Strong understanding of ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
• DBS checks and two references required.

Responsibilities

• Support a small group of 4-5 pupils within the SEN provision.
• Work with children with high-level ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Confidently manage challenging behaviour and verbal aggression.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Establish clear boundaries, routines and expectations.
• Follow individual behaviour plans and EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to maintain a safe environment.
