We're currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an SEN School in Swadlincoteon a long-term basis starting in September. This role is temporary.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, responding to their individual learning and emotional needs.
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum by adapting activities and providing additional support where required.
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and implement EHCP targets and support strategies.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence, independence and personal development.

Requirements or Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, education, care or support setting.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils and remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities within an educational setting.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider school team.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
