Job summary

Aspire People is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with Special Educational Needs across local schools.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help with learning, communication, and emotional regulation, and work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to create a safe, inclusive learning environment. DBS is required or you must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• SEN experience preferred across school, care, youth work or similar.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or similar training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Help implement behaviour and learning support plans.
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
