Job summary

Aspire People in Peterborough are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with diverse learning needs across a variety of local schools. The role offers flexible day-to-day work with potential for long-term placements.

You will assist teachers with tailored lessons, provide one-to-one or small-group support, and help maintain an inclusive classroom. A TA qualification is desirable but not essential; a DBS check is required through Aspire People or via the Update Service.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN experience preferred.
• TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) desirable but not essential.
• A degree or significant experience in supporting students is welcomed.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check through Aspire People (unless already on the Update Service).

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons
• Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN
• Support the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Work with other staff and outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
• Keep accurate records of progress and provide feedback to teachers
