Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for flexible, part-time supply or bank work in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The role involves supporting pupils aged 3–11 with additional needs, both one-to-one and in small groups, within a nurturing school environment.

The position offers flexible hours (typical 8:00am–4:00pm) and an inclusive, trauma-informed setting focused on wellbeing and outdoor learning. Prior UK SEN / primary TA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a UK primary/SEN teaching assistant.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is preferred.
• Patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different pupils and classroom environments.
• Commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils to access learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Help develop pupils' confidence, communication and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt support according to individual pupil needs.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide consistent care and learning support.
