Job summary

Randstad Education in South London is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for flexible ad hoc shifts at a modern SEN school in West Wickham.

You will support pupils aged 5-19 with SEN, including non-verbal learners and ASD, and there are opportunities to progress toward a teaching assistant qualification. A GCSE in English and Maths is required and a valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) is expected.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C or above.
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching assistant qualification.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal learners, pupils on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), and children with complex medical conditions.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Salary: £88-£105 per day (Flexible / Ad Hoc Basis)

Opening in June 2026, our multidisciplinary setting brings together Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT), Educational Psychologists, and Psychotherapists under one roof.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching assistant qualification.
  • Experience supporting non-verbal learners, pupils on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), and children with complex medical conditions
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to process one)
  • Proven experience providing personal care support for students aged 5-19
