Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in primary schools across Merton and surrounding South West London. Roles are long-term, flexible, and start from September 2026, with opportunities to work across local SW London schools and build SEND experience.

You will provide personalised support to individual pupils or small groups, helping them access the curriculum, build independence and confidence in a nurturing school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN or school support is desirable.
• Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups.
• Strong communication and empathy with pupils and families.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils throughout the school day.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in activities.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.
• Assist with transitions and changes in routines.
