Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with various learning needs across Peterborough and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible day-to-day work in multiple schools, with potential for long-term or temp-to-perm opportunities.

You will assist teachers, provide one-on-one or small group support, and help create an inclusive classroom environment. DBS checks may be required, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with students with SEN is preferred.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
• A degree or significant experience in supporting students is welcomed.
• Strong communication skills and patience.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check through Aspire People (unless already on the Update Service)

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN.
• Support the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work with other staff and outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
• Keep accurate records of progress and provide feedback to teachers.
