Job summary

Grange School in Manchester is hiring a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to support pupils with diverse learning needs. The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £22,730 and the full time equivalent is £26,427 Grade 3.

You will work under supervision to assist with learning, wellbeing and development. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils become happy, confident and successful young people.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 2 or above and able to support learning.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills are required.
• Ability to work well in a team and maintain professional standards.
• Experience or interest in supporting pupils with communication difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Supporting small groups of children and implementing Individual Learning Plans
• Assisting with supervision during teacher absence (short periods)
• Providing feedback on pupil progress and maintaining records
• Ensuring equal access to learning for all pupils
• Participating in relevant training and development
• Demonstrating commitment to performance management and continuous improvement
• Communicating effectively and professionally with pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies
