Job summary

Merton Park Primary School in London is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide learning and care support for a pupil with SEN to help them progress on their EHCP.

You will work with teachers to plan and deliver activities, support routines, and help with behaviour management and inclusion. The role requires good literacy, numeracy, ICT skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience
• First-aid training, or willingness to complete it
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent) desirable
• Experience working in a school environment or educational setting
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and EHCPs

Responsibilities

• Support the pupil with routines, transitions and behaviour management
• Build positive relationships to promote self-esteem and inclusion
• Assist with development and delivery of EHCP targets
• Support learning activities and differentiated planning with the teacher
• Contribute to safeguarding and promote pupil wellbeing
