Job summary

Bishop's Primary School in Ashington, Northumberland, is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. You will carry out planned learning activities, adapt materials, monitor progress, and work with the SENCO and class teachers to promote independence and inclusive learning.

This permanent role is 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days, with Band 3 salary (£26,427–£26,847 pro rata).

Qualifications

• Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Patience, empathy and enthusiasm for supporting learners.
• Ability to work with the SENCO and class teachers to tailor support.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned learning activities as agreed with the teacher, adapting materials to suit needs.
• Help ensure all children can access learning materials and activities.
• Monitor, record and assess development; discuss concerns with the teacher.
• Support children's social and emotional wellbeing and inclusion.
