Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashington, Northumberland, starting in September for long-term roles with potential permanent opportunities. You will support students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4, including autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH, helping them access learning and manage their individual needs.

The role requires patience, resilience and excellent communication to build positive relationships with secondary pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience working with autism/ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A positive and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support students with a range of needs including autism/ ASD, ADHD and SEMH to access learning.
• Help students manage their individual needs and engage positively within the classroom.
