Job summary

iMap Centre Limited in Barrowmore, Cheshire, is seeking a dedicated Education Support role to assist pupils aged 7 to 19 with complex needs. You will help plan learning activities, supervise learners, and support inclusion across ICT and classroom tasks.

You will work under teaching staff to monitor progress, maintain safety, and contribute to Positive Behaviour Support plans, while developing independence and confidence in pupils.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in Teaching and learning or equivalent or a willingness to undertake the training.
• Skills: Ability to support pupils to make progress against the EHCP targets.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a range of people both orally and in writing.
• Ability to lead a specialist area in school, e.g. speech and language or handwriting.
• Confident user of IT as a work tool.
• Well organised and self-motivated.
• Knowledge: Disability/SEN theory and practice particularly linked to Autism.
• Safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
• Proactive approaches to Positive Behaviour Support.
• Inclusive approaches that raise attendance, attainment and achievement.
• Awareness of and commitment to equality of opportunity

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning learning activities aligned to pupils' objectives.
• Supervise and support pupils with SEND during activities.
• Record pupil progress using the school's assessment systems.
• Support use of ICT in the classroom and help pupils access learning.
• Assist with pupil supervision on trips and after-school activities.
• Maintain health, safety, safeguarding and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver holistic education.
