Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an Autism (ASC/ASD) Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5-19 with a range of learning difficulties in Stoke on Trent. You will help manage behaviours, assist in learning activities and promote independence, while providing personal care where needed.

The role requires resilience, patience, and experience with ASD/ADHD and other needs, with opportunities to work across primary and secondary ages in a SEN setting.

Qualifications

• A Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of young people with ASD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
• Experienced working with primary and secondary aged pupils with EBD needs.
• Emotionally resilient.
• Promote happiness, self-reliance and encourage positive interactions.
• Experienced with personal care.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 5-19 with ASD/ADHD and other learning difficulties in the classroom.
• Help pupils engage with tasks set by the class teacher and reach their potential.
• Take initiative, be resilient and drive pupils to achieve and progress.
• Work on learning activities, promote confidence and encourage pupils to act independently.
