Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd. is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream primary schools across Croydon.

You will provide 1:1 support for assigned pupils, work with SENCOs to meet EHCP targets, and help create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months experience with additional needs, a Level 2 TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable), and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable).
• Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
• Available Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil.
• Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Dysregulation.
• Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• At least 6 months experience supporting children with additional needs
• Ideally hold minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable)
• Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and well-being
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
• Available Monday to Friday

Pay:

93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. 100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
