Job summary

GSL Education in London is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with severe and complex needs in a specialist setting. The role involves 1:1 support or small group work, helping students access learning and daily activities.

You'll work closely with teachers and therapists, manage personal care where required, and support non-verbal students using alternative communication methods. This is a full-time, long-term position during term-time.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience supporting students with severe and complex needs.
• Comfort working with non-verbal students and varied communication methods.
• Willingness to provide personal care when needed.
• Calm, patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with severe and complex SEN on 1:1 or in small groups.
• Help students access learning and participate in daily activities.
• Support non-verbal students using alternative communication methods.
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks as required.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and other staff.
