Job summary

GSL Education in Greenwich is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary setting. This is a full-time, term-time-only role to support secondary-aged students with Autism (ASC) and challenging behaviours.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support, helping students engage positively in their learning and development within a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with SEN, especially Autism.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviours and using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Confident working with secondary-aged students.
  • GCSE grades A-C in Maths, English and Science.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom and individual support to secondary-aged students.
  • Support students with Autism and additional SEN needs.
  • Assist with behaviour management and promote positive engagement.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the wider SEN team.
  • Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

GSL Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary setting in Greenwich. This is a full-time, term-time-only opportunity to support secondary-aged students with Autism (ASC) and challenging behaviours.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and will be confident supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour and have good behaviour management. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, helping students to engage positively in their learning and development.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Have previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism
  • Have experience managing challenging behaviours and using positive behaviour strategies
  • Be confident working with secondary-aged students
  • Be patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
  • Hold GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science
  • Be available to work full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
