Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs at a college setting in Romford. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, promoting independence and safe learning in a dedicated SEN team.

You will work Monday to Friday in a full-time capacity, assisting with personal care where needed and collaborating with teaching staff to deliver targeted learning activities. DBS and Hoisting certification are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with SEN students is essential
• Experience supporting students with complex needs is desirable
• Valid Hoisting Certificate is essential
• Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, caring and supportive approach
• Ability to work confidently as part of a wider SEN team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

Responsibilities

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
