Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Romford from September 2026. This 1:1 role provides targeted support for a Year 2 pupil with ASD who has limited verbal communication.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the pupil access learning, develop communication skills, and thrive in the classroom, using patient, supportive strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs.
• Able to support a Year 2 pupil with limited verbal communication.
• Kind, patient and nurturing with good communication.
• Ability to work with teachers and SENCO.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ASD.
• Support the pupil's communication, learning, and social development.
• Use a calm, patient, and consistent approach throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
• Encourage independence while offering reassurance and guidance.

Pay: £14.24 per hour

We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Romford from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has limited verbal communication.

This role is ideal for someone who is kind, patient, and nurturing, with the ability to build a trusting relationship and communicate effectively using a range of supportive strategies. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the pupil access learning, develop communication skills, and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role
