Job summary

Academics is seeking an SEN TA for a Cheltenham-based school to support learners with special educational needs. The role involves 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and contributing to personalised learning plans in a fast-paced environment.

You will join a dedicated team delivering targeted interventions, fostering a positive classroom atmosphere, and helping students reach their full potential with safeguarding at the core. ASAP start and term-time only.

Qualifications

• A caring, patient and adaptable approach.
• Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to apply for one.
• Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and take on training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners in a classroom environment, on a 1:1 basis, and in targeted intervention groups.
• Help with creating a safe and encouraging environment to help the learners you are supporting thrive.
• Assisting with learning and specific interventions to support social and emotional progress.
• Monitoring achievements and helping students reach their full potential inside and outside the classroom.
• Ensuring safeguarding policies are followed at all times.
• Mentor learners so that they are able to express themselves in a safe and controlled way.
