Job summary

Horizon Care and Education seeks a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for Meadowbrook School in Long Eaton. You will support pupils aged 5-19 with Autism, aiding learning and social development in both classroom and practical settings.

The role involves 1:1 support, adapting activities, and assisting teachers to create inclusive learning experiences. GCSE English/Math and TA qualification are expected, with opportunity to progress.

Qualifications

• Assist students with their educational and social development.
• Provide support inside and outside of the classroom to engage in activities.
• Set up activities using technology or adapt the environment to meet needs.
• Support teachers and respond to classroom situations positively.
• Work 1:1 with some students requiring behavioural support; knowledge of management strategies.
• GCSE English and Math grade C+ or equivalent functional skills; willing to work towards TA qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in learning and social development.
• Support inside and outside classroom to enable full participation.
• Prepare and modify activities to meet individual needs.
• Assist teachers; engage with students; provide learning support in a positive manner.
• Work 1:1 with some pupils needing extra time and support.
• Demonstrate behavioural management techniques as needed.
