Job summary

Aspire People in Horncastle is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs, including autism and ADHD, helping them access learning and build social skills in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable).
  • Understanding of autism and ADHD, and strategies to support these needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
