Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Autism Resource Base in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT). You will support children with Autism, including non-verbal and pre-verbal pupils, helping them access learning and develop communication skills in a nurturing environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, sensory activities, and collaboration with teachers to promote learning, behaviour, and independence. DBS checks and safeguarding are required.

Formación

• Experience working with children or young people with Autism and additional learning needs (desirable).
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
• Confident supporting pupils with a range of communication needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Responsabilidades

• Supporting pupils with Autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Communicating with non-verbal and pre-verbal children using various strategies.
• Assisting with sensory activities tailored to individual needs.
• Supporting pupils with physical tasks and life-skills sessions.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, social development and independence.
• Collaborating with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to achieve outcomes.
