Job summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Coventry is seeking an apprentice teaching assistant to work with experienced teachers and support staff, helping pupils access learning and develop confidence in a nurturing environment.

You will support pupils with SEN, assist with delivering engaging activities, foster social and academic development, and help create a safe, inclusive atmosphere while you learn on the job through training and mentoring.

Job description

The successful candidate will:
  • Be passionate about supporting children and young people.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Be willing to learn and develop new skills through training and mentoring.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or be willing to work towards achieving these qualifications where required.
