TimePlan Education Group is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Provision in Gorton, Manchester. You will provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support to secondary pupils with SEN, ASC, ADHD and SEMH, helping them engage in learning and stay safe in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach, with confidence managing challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students.
• Team Teach Level 2 or equivalent positive handling training is highly desirable.
• Previous alternative provision or specialist school experience is advantageous.
• Level 3 qualification in education, childcare, psychology or related subject desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support to secondary-aged pupils.
• Support students with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and complex behavioural needs.
• Build positive relationships, trust and engagement with pupils who may be reluctant to learn.
• Support emotional regulation, independence and positive behaviour.
• Use consistent de-escalation strategies and follow individual behaviour plans.
• Adapt your approach to pupils’ communication, sensory and learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
