Job summary

Vision for Education in Wisbech is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs in a mainstream classroom. You will help children access learning, build confidence and thrive with consistent assistance from September 2026.

You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets, adapt activities to individual needs, and promote emotional regulation, independence and positive social interaction in a supportive school

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in school or similar setting.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff and families.
• Calm, resilient and adaptable in a dynamic classroom.
• Genuine passion for helping children with additional needs.
• Patient, nurturing approach to SEN support.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 SEN support in a mainstream classroom.
• Adapt activities to meet each pupil's needs.
• Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCO on EHCP targets.
• Encourage independence and social interaction.
