Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a mainstream classroom in March. The role focuses on 1:1 support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence and thrive within the school environment.

The successful candidate will work with teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCP targets, foster independence and positive behaviour, and nurture emotional regulation. Start September 2026, competitive daily pay.

Qualifications

• Patience and empathy in supporting children with SEN.
• Experience supporting children with SEN in school, care, or similar settings.
• Ability to build strong trusting relationships with students, staff and families.
• Calm, resilient and adaptable personality to handle dynamic classroom needs.
• Genuine passion for making a significant impact in children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD).
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs and support development.
• Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets.
• Encourage independence, engagement and social interaction in learning.
