Job summary

Randstad Education in the United Kingdom is seeking a committed full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN and SEMH, enabling safe engagement with the curriculum and growth throughout the academic year.

The role is term-time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 03:55 PM, with a September start. Salary is £88–£97 per day, and a DBS check is required; driving and access to a vehicle are preferred due to rural location.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of experience in a school setting or with SEN/SEMH; transferable care/ youth work experience considered.
• Able to commit to full-time hours for the entire academic year starting in September.
• Must be a licensed driver with access to a vehicle due to rural location and limited public transport.
• Patient, resilient, empathetic and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Successful candidate will undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
• Assist the class teacher with implementing tailored IEPs.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote emotional well-being.
• Monitor and report pupil progress to teaching staff.
