Job summary

Horizon Teachers is partnering with a Bromley Primary School to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to start January 2027. The role focuses on 1:1 pupil support across the school, with occasional assistance in mainstream classes.

You will work closely with the class teacher to tailor activities for individual needs, fostering independence and emotional wellbeing within an inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting or similar care-focused role.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support across year groups.
• Patient, empathetic and reliable with confidence supporting learning and personal care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Genuine passion for helping children grow and feel their best daily.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, helping them progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Working in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging independence, developing social skills, and boosting self-esteem.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
