Job summary

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Rugby from September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, MLD, and SEMH.

This is a full-time position in a supportive, safeguarding-focused environment. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assist teachers with differentiated lessons, implement EHCP strategies, monitor progress, and collaborate with therapists, parents,

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional learning needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to access learning and achieve targets.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and behaviour support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school-approved approaches.
• Support pupils with personal development, social skills, communication, and independence.
• Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
• Record and monitor pupil progress, engagement, and wellbeing.
