Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced school in Billericay to support both primary and secondary pupils with a range of needs. The role is full-time and long-term, with an ASAP start.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, aid communication and emotional regulation, follow EHCP targets, and work closely with teachers and SENCOs in a nurturing environment. The school emphasises pupil wellbeing and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
